Skating Coaching Staff

The Igloo at Mt. Laurel is extremely fortunate to have such a large and skilled staff to teach and provide their expertise to our customers.  They are available through both group lessons and private instruction.

All our skating coaches are members of the United States Figure Skating Association and the Professional Skaters Association along with other skating organizations.

Donna Console

Donna brings to the Igloo experience from a much varied background. Her accomplishments include: passing through the Seventh Figure and Novice Freestyle USFSA tests, Pre Gold Dances, Preliminary Pair, and a B.S.M.T. from the University of Pennsylvania. She is PSA Rated, written and registered in both Freestyle and Moves in the Field.

Donna trained locally and competed in the region. She attended many out of state camps and clinics. Donna has experience in setting up and maintaining skating programs at numerous area rinks in both the USFSA and ISI systems.

Diversified and accomplished, Donna instructs all levels: Basic Skills classes and private lessons, beginner through advanced levels covering Freestyle, Moves in the Field and Dance.

Jennifer Edwards

Skating Instructor

Jenn brings a variety of expertise to the Igloo.  She is an accomplished figure skater, having passed her USFSA Fifth Figure Test, Junior Freestyle and Silver Dance.  She has competed at the junior level regionally as well as being a collegiate competitor.  She adds, to those skills, a year of College Hockey and Power Skating instruction at the college level.  Jenn has completed the PSA basic Accreditation Exam, A B.S. in Basic Science and Psychology, and A M.ED in Special Education and Elementary Ed.  This places Jenn in a very special field of teaching special needs classes as well as special skaters.

Jenn trains all levels of skaters, children and adults, in Moves in the Field, Freestyle, and in Choreographic Competitive Programs.  She currently heads the Igloo Power Skating Instructional Program.

Karen Ann Gooley

Skating Instructor

Karen has been teaching for 14 years.  Her accomplishments include:

USFSA Double Gold Medalist

International Competitor

Six-Time US National competitor

Regional and Sectional Champion in the Novice, Junior, and Senior levels in singles

Bronze medalist at the 1991 US National Figure Skating Championships in the Junior Ladies Freestyle event and in Ladies Compulsory Figures event

Karen trains all levels of freestyle utilizing her competitive experience to improve a skater’s jump technique, artistry, footwork, edge quality and power.  She enjoys teaching all levels and abilities from beginner to elite, in Freestyle, Choreography, Moves in the Field, Stroking, and Basic Skills.
